Circle Restaurant to Sponsor Illiana Pure Stocks,
Comes on to Support Short Track News

Friday, August 24, 2007 (Crown Point, IN) – The wild and crazy Pure Stock division at Illiana Speedway leaves an impression on most people that watch these weekend warriors due battle every week on the 1/4 mile.

With 50+ cars the norm, it's easy to see why this class is such a fan favorite. One fan in particular, Ronda Dessauer liked the class so much she decided to sponsor the whole class for the remainder of the 2007 season.

Dessauer owns and operates the Circle Restaurant (on the square) in Crown Point, Indiana and thinks supporting Illiana Speedway is a great way to cross promote the track and her business.

"We are fairly close to the track and would love to get race fans to come enjoy lunch or dinner with us", stated Dessauer. "I got behind the wheel of a pure stock at Crashfest and won the powder puff race, I was hooked after that".

At first she started giving out $50 and $25 gift certificates to race winners. After a few weeks she decided to up it even more and pay out a point fund for the top 10 drivers in pure stocks points at the 2007 Illiana banquet to be held November 3rd.

The year end point fund will be as follows...
Top 10 at banquet prize money would be
150-100-100-75-75-50-50-50-50-50

Dessauer continued, "I hope people come out and support our restaurant, it's a fun and friendly atmosphere with great food".

The sponsorship could lead to more things in the future. Dessauer stated she wants to get her "feet wet" this year and see the type of response she gets. If it's positive she would like to do more next season with other divisions possibly as well as the pure stocks.

"Steve Bechtel from Illiana Speedway put this deal together for us and we are already talking about doing some stuff if the Turbo Stocks and Pure Stocks run at the Bettenhausen in September. We've already started discussing next year as well"

Besides being a fan of Illiana Speedway and the Pure Stock division, Dessauer wants to spread the word about her restaurant through the fans of Short Track News.

"I come to Short Track News on a daily basis. I think Steve does a great job with this website and anything we can do to support him we will".
