2009 Illiana Speedway General Rules

Most 2009 Updates Posted

                                           Note to Legends Racers

   * Proof of 2009 INEX membership must be provided at registration on April 19

to receive any national points earned. (not required for Illiana points)

    * Illiana will require all legends cars to use an INEX approved muffler at all times.

    * Rules for legends cars will be taken directly from the 2008 INEX national rulebook. 

*  The rulebook can be viewed or down loaded at www.600racing.com under the INEX info tab.

       All legends will need to have either an AMB Tranx260 or an AMB Tranx160 transponder(either will work) for qualifying and scoring for the 2009 season would be appropriate to put along with the rule changes. Also all legends and Bandolero drivers receive a $25 discount for anyone who gets their 2009 INEX membership in before Jan 1st. The form can be downloaded at www.600racing.com

2009 INEX rulebook Change list

(2009 Rulebook changes will be enforced as of March 1st 2009)

ALL – LEGENDS, BANDOLERO & THUNDER CAR

-          Legends, Bandolero & Thunder Car / Being found in violation of the shock, tire softness, engine seal and traction control rules will result in a suspension from one year (first offense) to a lifetime ban (multiple offenses).

-          Legends, Bandolero & Thunder Car / Appeal fees on shock, tire softness, engine seal and traction control violations will be $1000.00.

-          Legends, Bandolero & Thunder Car / Fuel Specific Gravity will be changed to .710 to .770 @ 60 degrees.

-          Legends, Bandolero & Thunder Car / The protest fee for checking engine seals will be changed to $200.00.

-          Legends, Bandolero & Thunder Car / Roll bar padding (SFI – 45.1) is mandatory on all bars within one foot of the drivers helmet.

Legends & Thunder Car

-          Legends & Thunder Car / Steel braided fuel lines are mandatory

-          Legends & Thunder Car / Brake valve - Pressure valve – Residual valve, only one aftermarket unit per brake system (car).

-          Legends & Thunder Car / Legal helmet rating will be changed to Snell SA-2000 or Snell SA-2005 Full Face Helmet only.

LEGENDS ONLY

-          Legends / Maximum cranking compression number will be changed to 165.

-          Legends / INEX approved Borla – S&S mufflers are mandatory.

-         Legends / Maximum left side weight (52%) will be checked with the driver belted into the seat.

-         Legends / The seat must be mounted with the centerline of the seat a minimum of 10” from the left side of the inside of the drivers compartment roll cage.

BANDOLERO ONLY

-          Bandolero / Total engine inspection will be removed from the protest list.

-          Bandolero / Bandolero engine claim will be added.

-          Bandolero / Legal helmet rating will be changed to

     Snell SA-2000, Snell SA-2005 or SFI 24.1 Full Face Helmet only.
